Lifeworks is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that individuals with autism lead healthy and enriched lives by providing essential clinical services across the lifespan. Founded in 2013, Lifeworks provides residential, vocational, and educational opportunities for adults throughout Northeast Ohio with a diagnosis of autism. Among its array of services, the agency offers behavioral health and Applied Behavior Analytic services for individuals of all ages who are on the spectrum.

Position Summary:

The Coordinator of Education plays a key role in advancing Lifeworks Autism Services’ mission by leading the development, coordination, and delivery of high-quality internal and external training programs. This position is responsible for designing and implementing professional learning opportunities, digitizing and maintaining an accessible training library, and representing the agency at community events, conferences, and strategic partner engagements. When not conducting external trainings, the Coordinator of Education will report to the office to support program planning, curriculum development, and staff development initiatives.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Training & Facilitation:
    • Plan, develop, and deliver internal training for staff across all levels to enhance skills, knowledge and professional growth,  
    • Coordinate and facilitate external trainings for community partners, families, schools, and other organizations, and
    • Serve as a knowledgeable representative of Lifeworks Autism Services at conferences, workshops and public events.
  • Work Environment & Schedule:
    • Provide coverage for a combination of in-office work and travel for external trainings and event, and
    • Provide flexibility for standard business work hours and occasional evenings or weekends based on training needs.
  • Administration & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate training records, schedules and participant evaluations in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards,
    • Report regularly on training activities, outcomes and future plans, and
    • Provide support in the office when not conducting external trainings, assisting with education program initiatives and staff support.
  • Program Support & Collaboration:
    • Work closely with program leadership to assess organizational training needs and implement strategies that support workforce development,
    • Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for training that strengthen service delivery and community partnerships,
    • Collaborate with the agency’s leadership and partners to explore grant-funded training opportunities and requests for proposals, and
    • Collect and analyze feedback to evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Curriculum & Content Design:
    • Design, adapt, and digitize training materials into engaging multimedia formats for ongoing use,
    • Develop and maintain a virtual training library to ensure staff and partners have continuous access to resources, and
    • Ensure training context is evidenced-based, current, and aligned with best practices in autism services and developmental disabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Sciences or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience working with Individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families preferred.
